The North Lincs Health & Safety Group was formed in 1945 and holds monthly meetings. The Group's mission statement is "to promote good working practice in health & safety, by encouraging local employers and others with an interest in health and safety to join the Safety Group, meet and contribute improvements in heath and safety welfare.
Radon specialist contractors, ProTen Services, were invited to attend the most recent Safety Group meeting to deliver a seminar on the subject of radon gas. Several of the members who attended were unaware that radon was a problem in their area of the country, and most did not realise that if a commercial property contains a basement that is used as a workplace, Health & Safety Legislation requires it to be tested for radon.
Following the seminar, members of the Group including Chairman, David Jones (holding the Tee) and President, Maria Sanderson (far left) were pleased to pose with Radon Tee to help spread the Reduce Radon message.
US non-profit organisation, CanSAR (Cancer Survivors Against Radon) is dedicated to preventing radon-induced lung cancer and saving lives through education and awareness, and is sponsoring the Radon Tee World Trek 2010. The campaign aims to bring social awareness to communities through the power of photos, videos and personal stories.
ProTen Services are taking the Tee on a national tour and will be adding photos to the social media campaign at www.facebook.com/radontee. Keep your eyes open for the Tee's special appearance at a major sporting venue!
