ProTen Services employees gain Radon Council certification

ProTen Services Ltd. is pleased to announce that twelve employees attended the Radon Council Training Course on 14th November 2007, and all successfully passed the examination.
The course, held at Dorich House in Kingston, was run by the Radon Council and covered aspects of radon detection and treatment. Lectures included:
- An introduction to radon and Health Risks
- Detection methods for radon
- Geology and Interpretation of radon measurements
- Health and Safety Legislation
- Remedial methods in radon work
- Radon in new-builds
- Radon Barriers - theory and practice
- Environmental Law
- Practical remediation problems and solutions
At the end of the course, delegates sat an individual and closed-book 75-minute examination, which tested their understanding of all topics covered on the course. All twelve of ProTen Services' delegates successfully passed the examination, meaning that the company is now the employer of the greatest number of Radon Council certificated employees.
Martin Freeman, ProTen Services Managing Director, who was one of the course attendees said, "We are grateful to the Radon Council for running this course. It was very informative, and all of our employees felt that they benefited significantly from the expert knowledge of the tutors."
Tutors included Dennis Papworth OBE, President of the Radon Council, Brian Ahern, Chairman of the Radon Council, Gavin Gillmore, Doctor of Geology at University College London and Professor of Environmental Geoscience at Kingston University, Steve Walker of the Health and Safety Executive, and Alan Ellard, Director of Radon Ireland Group.
